Well, lets talk about the cash machine called vending, we now that vending has been here since the 1800's, and people have always made money with vending. I just want to stress a few key points one of which is the price increase of snacks and drinks. We know that some of the snacks are going up due to the trucks etc have fuel increase, and a few other things, but this still want be a large impact on your business, because most of us are charging retail prices on food and drinks that we get at very low cost wholesale. In most cases you are getting a 60% to 80% return on something that may cost you thirty six or even twenty six cent. So, you are still making a profit on your business and according to the company Slimline "vending has stood the test of time through the Depression and many other economic crisis. "

Confused Customers

I restarted my vending business a few months ago. While getting back into the groove of good customer service, I have noticed that many of my customers don't know what the hell they want to do with the food. For example, I bought a machine and placed in a particular location, because they said they wanted drinks and snacks for the their establishment. When I put the machine in the place, the folks all of the sudden are not eating the food that was purchased. I can't understand what in the hell is wrong with folks, you ask for what you want and then when you get it you really don't want what you got.

In a situation like this ,it is good to fall back and do a little pleasing buy not running out and buying a bunch of snacks until you get a feel for what folks are eating. You must take into account the age, ethnicity, and gender when buying food and drinks. Many women are funny about what they will eat during a certain time of year. In the summer and spring women are more prone to want to lose weight so they try not to snack as much as they do in the winter. A word to the wise when dealing with confused customer do your thing and let them find their own way to the snack machine you can't please everybody.

Reading this article lead me to thinking, you as a vendor must stay up on the new and latest technology. Vending machines are changing along with the way the customer is services. I went to a vendors convention, and their was so many different machines, I completely lost my mind. In 2008 you must stay abreast of whats going on with vending or your business will suffer.

Multiple Business Can Kill

I know we have been talking about making money with vending machine's, but I want to discuss how running to many business can hurt you. When starting any business you must develop narrow mindset about your business. Developing a clear cut plan to help you generate money for your initial start business. Stretching yourself to thin is can hurt you business in the long run, because you have to many irons in the firer. In what ever you choose to do take you time and grow one business at a time and then begin to branch out into other avenues once the money from your first business is in place.
