Many folks due to the economy have been trying to cut their cost, and save money by allowing the expiration date of an item to go past its overdue date to get more bang for the buck. I would advise you to keep an eye out for the dates on the snacks if they are not told far off most times the food is still fresh and edible to eat.
Excellent article. Any vending organization needs to manage their inventory to have any chance of success. That points back to another article in here about sodas still king and if we as an industry should bend to the pressure of the media or fight back. I think the choice is balance. As in anything balance and moderation is the key. We optimize our snack vending machines to make each have the fastest moving healthy and traditional products.
