Selling Snacks People Want

Twisties, extruded snack from corn and riceImage via Wikipedia Have you bought snacks and placed them in the Vending Machine to find out that nobody wants them? I have and its really a big headache when you buy food that nobody want to eat. In a situation like this, I think the best thing to do is ask people what they want to see placed in the Vending Machine, and try to get a happy medium of snacks purchased that people will want to eat. People are fickle when it comes to eating snacks out of a Vending Machine. Women like chocolate while men like hard candies or some type of potato chips etc.

The best thing that you can do when you try to service a group of people at a local business is to get an opinion on what folks want to see place in their Vending Machine. Pleasing folks can be a difficult task, but if you just sk then you may save yourself alot of money in the long run.

  1. Excellent article. Any vending organization needs to manage their inventory to have any chance of success. That points back to another article in here about sodas still king and if we as an industry should bend to the pressure of the media or fight back. I think the choice is balance. As in anything balance and moderation is the key. We optimize our snack vending machines to make each have the fastest moving healthy and traditional products.

Soda vending machines do still rule. But for school vending solutions a successful vendor has to balance the need for healthy choices and the need of course to remain in business. Water is huge in Atlanta Schools. And we like placing water vending machines in schools because it sells and its good for our kids. In fact many students are drinking more water. They aren't all addicted to sugar. Many kids are making better choices due to the media and their parents.
